Whew!

What a weekend! I got to meet some of the girls that I chat with daily on Stampin' Canada, this weekend.

I really need to get back to business! I have a bunch of new (gulp! non SU!) stamps. Including Riley the Moose from Hanna Stamps. I also found a few other odd bits...

I'm enjoying some silence but I'm actually ready for normalcy again! Can't believe school will be starting on Tuesday. Seems like August just FLEW by... but at the same time this summer felt like the 2 longest months of my life!

Wanna see some of my latest creations?

-this one uses a "view master" technique - I used a scallop nestie to make my 'wheel'. I also used an OLD SU! set - flower of the month- I picked March, September and November (for Dawson and I, Ally and Steve's birthday months)

Also used current set, -heard from the heart-

This card I used current sets -a flower for all seasons- and a hostess level 1 set -best yet- It's a surprise pop up slider card. (altho I didn't use SU paper) I made 10 of these for the Stampin' Canada Card swap.

coming up for air!

Just wanted to say "hi", I've not been feeling so hot this week. I'm REALLY hoping to kick it! Especially before Thursday! The Stampin' Canada girls are having a meet up this weekend and I really can't miss it!

I've still been creating, I'll take and post pictures tomorrow :)

The open house order arrived this evening, so I've been drooling over my goodies :D

Submissions

And it's almost that time AGAIN!

A while ago I was defeated by a deadline to submit a layout for a Canadian owned scrapbook magazine "Scrapbook & Cards" -that happens to be my FAVORITE!! ;) I busted my BUTT to get this layout done and was late! :( I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask anyway, if it was too late to send it in, so I did! :) and it was suggested to go ahead and submit it. Well, I never heard back, so I guess it wasn't what they were looking for.

I have never submitted for a magazine before so I guess I need to climb to ladder to succeed! Today I submitted my diorama card, *fingers crossed*. If it 'disappears' from my blog - it is a GOOD sign! ;)

I am preparing the kids for 2 sleepovers and prepping for a workshop I have on Friday evening. I also wanted to offer up a DEAL for my loyal blog readers... I know YOU are out there ;)

If you place an order* with me by Friday night - I'll GIVE YOU a FREE assortment of the *NEW* Designer brads!!! (pg. 184)

*order minimum of $20

It took (on and off) ALL afternoon to do this card!! mostly the colouring and interuptions of course didn't help... but I *LOVE* it!! it's not very big - 4.5" long by 3" high. Comments please? my blog is needing love!!!

Success!

I had a fabulous open house attendance! My hubby asked, with a bit of {attitude} "so how many people ARE you expecting", to which my reply with a shrug of shoulders -"maybe 6 if I'm lucky?" LOL -- I had a couple cancel, and a couple weren't sure and a few never RSVP'd so I really wasn't sure how many were planning to come. I was *SO* busy CLEANING, getting 2 cards prepped for make-n-takes, CLEANING, figuring out what sort of snacks to have, I have 2 kids, CLEANING... did I say that already. GREAT! my keyboard just decided -without my permission- to change my question mark into this: É and all my punctuation is doing wonky stuff, and my loyal blog readers KNOW that I *heart* my punctuation, it is just SO ME!!! :::sigh:::

Last night I had 10 guests cram into my diningroom -the livingroom was empty and a LOT cooler, but they insisted! *grin* fun!!

Sadly I was SO busy leading up to everybody arriving, I did not take any pictures. :( My 6 year old son, was my door man. He was so excited for me, it melted my heart. Steve took Ally with him for a bike ride and Dawson chose to stay home to help me. Awwwww... *sweet*

It was a successful evening and I am SO extremely greatful to all of you that were able to come out!
